Q1:

How many lesson I will be studying?

A1:

For Full-time students
generally 15 hours per week, from 9:30am – 12:30pm or 2:00pm to 5:00 pm
For Part-time students
generally 2 nights per week, from 6:30pm – 9:30 pm. (one night per subject)

 
Q2:

Where am I supposed to study?

A2:

For Full-time students
lecture would be generally at Breezy Path campus and Cheung Sha Wan Campus.
For Part-time students
lecture would be generally at Cheung Sha Wan Campus and Hong Kong Productivity Council.

 
Q3:

Are there any hostel facility?

A3:

Yes, cabinet member of student union will have higher priority, other application is subjected to assess case by case.

 
Q4:

Are there any financial subsidies from the institute?

A4:

Student from VTC graduates can apply for half tuition fee reimbursement if students graduated with average “credit” or “distinction” level of study.

 
Q5:

Are there any Continuing Education Fund (CEF) recognized courses for degree level studies?

A5:

Part of subjects are available for students to apply for CEF.

 
Q6:

How do part-time students apply for non-means tested loan?

A6:

Students can apply for it after enrollment.

 
Q7:

Can I study full time basis at year 1 and there transfer to part time mode after that?

A7:

Yes but the transfer from full time to part time will lose students s eligibility to apply for Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP). Some of the subjects may be offered in full time mode only.

What is the medium used in teaching?

English supported by Cantonese.

What is the requirement of mature student enrollment?

A9:

For Associate Degree: 21 years old (calculated in 1 Jan of current academic year)
For Bachelor Degree: 23 years old (calculated in 1 Jan of current academic year)

What is HKIT’s office hour?

A10:

From Monday to Friday: 9:30am – 6:00 pm
Saturday 2:00pm – 6:00pm

What is the deadline of registration?

A11:

All of the course are served basis. Registration will be stopped once application reach maximum number of students allowed. Normally deadline of application will be in January, May and Mid of September each year.

 
Q12:

If I don’t know how to read and write Chinese, am I eligible to apply for the associate degree programme?

A12:

We welcome students with different nationality that graduate with F.5 qualification.

 
Q13:

Can I have any certificate after competion of Associate Degree Foundation Year?

A13:

Successfully completion of Foundation year will be offered a certificate.
Complete First Year of Associate Degree will be offered a diploma.
Complete Second Year of Associate Degree will be offered an Associate Degree certificate
One more Year of Study, students will be offered a Bachelor Degree certificate.

Where is the main campus? What kind of facilities are there?

The main campus located at 2, breezy path, Mid-level, Hong Kong, We provide facilities such as computer labs, library and even hostel.

 
Q16:

What’s the difference between honor degree and degree? Can degree graduate apply for master degree of other universities?

A16:

Degree graduate of HKIT do not need to study an honor degree before applying master degree of Hong Kong universities. There are numerous of cases that graduates of our degree programme have successfully applied master degree programme of Hong Kong University, University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong and other universities.

 
Q17:

In the requirement of Associate Degree Programme, what is the level E or above of English Language requirement referring to? After finishing the Associate Degree programme, how long do I need to take to complete a bachelor degree course? Where should I study my degree programme?

A17:

The requirement refer to both Syllabus A or B, After completing an Associate Degree programme, It take only one more year to complete a Bachelor degree programme. Students can choose to study in Hong Kong and Australia.
