Course ObjectivesThis course aims to introduce the basic concepts and managerial approaches to enterprise project management and discuss many issues involved in the practice of these methods in business organization and IT industry. The course also examines project management roles and environments, the project life cycle and various techniques of work planning, and control and evaluation to achieve project objectives.
Learning OutcomesOn completion of this unit, students should be able to: 1. Explain project management including project initiation, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, control and evaluation. 2. Use quantitative techniques to manage project scheduling and monitoring. 3. Understand the process to estimate cost and budget 4. Understand the process of project evaluation and control 5. Apply the concepts and methods of project management with the use of case studies.
Assessment and Completion Requirement1.Module Assessment Method and Weightings:
Project 40%,
Test/Examination 60%
module passing mark: 40%
2.Attendance Requirement: not less than 70%
