Self-financing Post-Secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS)



The SPSS is now open for applications. The SPSS is supported by an Education Fund established by the HKSAR government. The SPSS aims to give recognition not only to students with outstanding academic performance, but also those with achievements and talents in other non-academic fields. The SPSS also aims to help attracting outstanding local and non-local students to pursue studies in self-financing post-secondary programmes.


This year, there are 4 types of Scholarships:



Outstanding Performance Scholarship (OPS)

Scholarships for students with outstanding achievements.


Best Progress Award (BPA)

Awards to encourage and recognize students with significant academic progress and improvement.


Talent Development Scholarship (TDS)

Scholarships to give recognition to students who have demonstrated achievements or talent in at least one non-academic areas and provide support for these students to further develop their talent and potential.


Reaching Out Award (ROA)

Awards to support meritorious students who are nominated by the Institute to participate in learning, internship or service programmes, as well as national, regional and international events and competitions that are conducted outside Hong Kong and organized/endorsed by the Institute.


Students pursuing full-time locally-accredited self-financing sub-degree or bachelor degree (including top-up degree) programmes at non-profit-making education institutions are eligible to apply or be nominated.


The Institute has sent an email with application forms attached to students. Interested students may apply by completing the corresponding application form(s), and submit it (hardcopy) together with supporting documents (if any) to us at the reception counter of Breezy Path (BP) Campus within office hours, by 30 November 2012 (Fri).
